Tryout Information and Program Summary

Reminder - there is no fee to try out. Invitations to join the program will be emailed in the weeks following the tryout, with practices scheduled to begin in November. Families will be asked to submit a non-refundable $175 deposit upon acceptance of their invitation to secure the player's roster spot, followed by a $73 monthly payment, Nov.- June. Some older teams may elect to practice just once per week, or start later, which would lower the overall cost. Those determinations will be announced as soon as they are finalized. Otherwise, all teams are provided with the following:

  • Two practices per week. During Nov-Apr, two indoor practices will be held at Nardin Academy Athletic Center, although limited space may dictate one practice may be held at Elmwood Village Charter School on Hertel Ave. A DSC Trainer/Staff on site at each of these sessions unless DOC or Coach opts for practice without. During May-July, teams will continue to practice twice per week with a DSC Trainer/Staff on site at least one of those two practices unless DOC or Coach opts for practice without. These facility fees, trainer fees, equipment costs, and field costs are all included in the registration fee.
  • Competition in the BWNYJSL once/twice a week, May-July, for most teams. Some teams may choose to compete in the NYSW Champions League, Thruway League, GLA or similar league. The cost of the team's entry fee into the League, the required player insurance, U.S. Soccer player pass, Coach background check/Risk Management pass, and League bond are all included in the registration fee.
  • One Outdoor Tournament registration fee is also included in the registration fee.
  • Additional items covered by the registration fee include various administrative costs, equipment costs and scholarship costs.

Note: The uniform will be an additional cost of around $75 for two jerseys, shorts and socks. Families must order these through our apparel provider via the DSC Uniforms/Gear link at the top of the page. Teams have the option to join an indoor league during the winter and/or compete in additional outdoor tournaments at an additional cost. Families are also responsible for all travel, lodging and food costs. Financial aid is available to those demonstrating the greatest need.
